The VZ-RAM Russel (V2) pays tribute to Raymond "Raymondo" Russell, the cult American rider highly prized by Arai purists, with an asymmetrical livery in an 80s-90s old-school style.

Wide blue, white, and black contrasting stripes highlighted with bright red, a winged caricature logo on the sides, and stylized typography on the back: a war paint that perfectly matches the sporty and timeless DNA of the VZ-RAM. The V2 version incorporates these iconic graphic elements in an even more dynamic treatment than the original.

Highlights
Hand-crafted shell
Each shell is assembled manually in Japan, layer by layer. Stiffer and lighter than a standard shell, impossible to mass-produce.
Rounded profile for better protection
Smooth outer surface with no jagged edges. In the event of a fall, the helmet slides and dissipates the impact instead of snagging and transferring it to your neck.
Wide-angle long visor
Longer than a standard open-face visor to better protect the lower face. It can be swapped in seconds without tools, clear or tinted depending on the weather.
Efficient ventilation at any speed
5 air intakes and 6 air outlets ensure active circulation even at low speeds in the city. Less heat, less fog.

Frequently asked questions
How do I choose my size?+

Measure your head circumference 2 cm above the eyebrows. The VZ-RAM has an intermediate oval fit, which suits the majority of European head shapes. If you are hesitant between two sizes, take the larger size and give the foam a few weeks to adapt to your shape.

What is the lifespan of an Arai helmet?+

Arai recommends replacing your helmet after 5 years of use, even without visible damage. The interior foam and shell materials degrade over time due to sweat and UV rays. In case of a fall, even a minor one, replace it immediately.

Are visors interchangeable between VZ and SZ ranges?+

The VZ-RAM visor is compatible only with helmets that share the same mounting system, called VAS-Z (lowered pivot axis for a smoother shell at the temples). Compatible models are the Arai SZ-R VAS and the Arai SZ-R EVO (ECE 22.06 standard). Conversely, older generations like the SZ-Ram 4 use a different mechanism with rigid side pods and are not compatible.

Can this helmet be worn with glasses?+

Yes, the interior of the VZ-RAM is designed to accommodate eyeglass stems without pressure or discomfort. Spaces are provided for this purpose in the interior foam.
