The VZ-RAM is Arai's benchmark open-face helmet. Handcrafted in Japan with the same rigor as their racing models, it integrates track-proven technologies into an open design thought out for the road and the city.

Handcrafted shell
Each shell is assembled manually in Japan, layer by layer. Stiffer and lighter than a standard shell, it is impossible to mass-produce.
Rounded profile for better protection
A smooth exterior surface with no protrusions. In the event of a fall, the helmet glides and dissipates impact instead of catching and transferring it to your neck.
Wide-angle long visor
Longer than a standard open-face visor to better protect the lower face. It can be swapped in seconds without tools, clear or tinted depending on the weather.
Efficient ventilation at any speed
5 air intakes and 6 exhausts ensure active circulation even at low city speeds. Less heat, less fog.

How do I choose my size?+

Measure the circumference of your head 2 cm above the eyebrows. The VZ-RAM is an intermediate oval fit, which suits the majority of European head shapes. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one and allow the foam a few weeks to adapt to your shape.

What is the lifespan of an Arai helmet?+

Arai recommends replacing your helmet after 5 years of use, even without visible damage. In the event of a fall, even a light one, replace it immediately.

Are visors interchangeable between the VZ and SZ ranges?+

The VZ-RAM visor is compatible with helmets sharing the VAS-Z system. Compatible models are the Arai SZ-R VAS and the Arai SZ-R EVO (ECE 22.06 standard). Older generations like the SZ-Ram 4 are not compatible.

Can this helmet be used with glasses?+

Yes, the interior of the VZ-RAM is designed to accommodate eyeglass temples without pressure or discomfort.
