The Oriental Blue is the VZ-RAM in a deep blue with almost midnight reflections. A shade that evokes traditional Japanese lacquer—intense up close, mysterious from a distance.

The VZ-RAM is Arai's benchmark open-face helmet. Handcrafted in Japan with the same rigor as their racing models, it integrates track-proven technology into an open format designed for road and city riding.

Highlights
Hand-built shell
Each shell is assembled manually in Japan, layer by layer. More rigid and lighter than a standard shell, it is impossible to replicate through mass production.
Rounded profile for better protection
A smooth outer surface with no protrusions. In the event of a fall, the helmet slides and dissipates the impact instead of catching and transferring it to your neck.
Long, wide-angle visor
Longer than a standard open-face visor to provide more coverage for the lower face. It can be swapped in seconds without tools, available in clear or tinted depending on the weather.
Efficient ventilation at all speeds
5 intake and 6 exhaust vents ensure active airflow even at low speeds in the city. Less heat, less fogging.

FAQ
How do I choose my size?+

Measure your head circumference 2 cm above the eyebrows. The VZ-RAM has an intermediate oval fit, which suits the majority of European head shapes. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size and allow a few weeks for the foam to adapt to your shape.

What is the lifespan of an Arai helmet?+

Arai recommends replacing your helmet after 5 years of use, even without visible damage. The interior foam and shell materials degrade over time due to sweat and UV exposure. In the event of a fall, even a light one, replace it immediately.

Are visors interchangeable between the VZ and SZ ranges?+

The VZ-RAM visor is compatible only with helmets sharing the same mounting system, known as VAS-Z. Compatible models are the Arai SZ-R VAS and the Arai SZ-R EVO (ECE 22.06 standard). Older generations like the SZ-Ram 4 are not compatible.

Can this helmet be worn with glasses?+

Yes, the interior of the VZ-RAM is designed to accommodate eyeglass frames without pressure or discomfort. Spaces are provided for this purpose in the interior foam.
