Each shell is assembled by hand in Japan, layer by layer. Stiffer and lighter than a standard shell, impossible to replicate in mass production.

How do I choose my size?+

Measure the circumference of your head 2 cm above the eyebrows. The VZ-RAM is shaped intermediate oval, which suits the majority of European head shapes. If you are between two sizes, take the larger size and allow the foam a few weeks to adapt to your shape.

What is the lifespan of an Arai helmet?+

Arai recommends replacing your helmet after 5 years of use, even without visible impact. The interior foams and shell materials degrade over time due to sweat and UV rays. In the event of a fall, even a minor one, replace it immediately.

Are visors interchangeable between VZ and SZ ranges?+

The VZ-RAM visor is only compatible with helmets that share the same mounting system, called VAS-Z (lowered pivot axis for a smoother shell at the temples). Compatible models are the Arai SZ-R VAS and the Arai SZ-R EVO (ECE 22.06 standard). Conversely, older generations like the SZ-Ram 4 use a different mechanism with rigid side plates and are not compatible.

Can this helmet be used with glasses?+

Yes, the interior of the VZ-RAM was designed to accommodate spectacle arms without pressure or discomfort. Spaces are provided for this purpose in the interior foam.
