Measure the circumference of your head 2 cm above the eyebrows. The VZ-RAM is an intermediate oval fit, which suits the majority of European head shapes. If you are between two sizes, take the larger size and give the foam a few weeks to adapt to your shape.
Arai recommends replacing your helmet after 5 years of use, even without visible damage. The interior foam and shell materials degrade over time due to sweat and UV exposure. If you drop it, even lightly, replace it immediately.
The VZ-RAM visor is only compatible with helmets that share the same mounting system, called VAS-Z (lowered pivot axis for a smoother shell at the temples). Compatible models are the Arai SZ-R VAS and the Arai SZ-R EVO (ECE 22.06 standard). Conversely, older generations like the SZ-Ram 4 use a different mechanism with rigid side pods and are not compatible: the anchor points and visor shape are completely different.
Yes, the interior of the VZ-RAM is designed to accommodate spectacle arms without pressure or discomfort. Spaces are provided for this purpose in the interior foam.
