The Diamond Black is the SZ-R EVO in its darkest version. A deep, lacquered black that seeks to hide nothing; the shape speaks for itself.

The SZ-R EVO is Arai's absolute benchmark in the open-jet category. ECE 22.06 certified, it applies the "Glancing Off" technology developed on MotoGP circuits in an open format designed for long journeys and high-speed riding.

Passive safety, R75 shell
Its ultra-round shell makes obstacles ricochet rather than absorbing them. Impact energy is dissipated outward before reaching your skull; this is Arai's "Glancing Off" philosophy brought up to the ECE 22.06 standard.
Racing ventilation derived from MotoGP
Features the same diffusers and rear spoiler as the RX-7V EVO racing full-face helmet. Airflow is 19% more powerful than before, effective even at low speeds in the city, and perfectly stable at high speeds.
Lightweight and well-balanced
At approximately 1,390g, Arai has placed the center of gravity very low to cancel out leverage effects on the neck. You forget you are wearing the helmet, even after hours on the road.
Peel-Away custom fit
The cheek and temple pads can be removed in 5mm layers without tools. You can refine the fit until you achieve perfect hold at high speeds, with no pressure points over time.

What is the ECE 22.06 standard?+

The ECE 22.06 standard, which came into effect in 2022, is significantly stricter than the old 22.05. For the first time, it incorporates oblique and rotational impact tests that simulate real-world road accidents. Only the most rigorous helmets pass this without compromising on weight.

How does the Peel-Away system work?+

Peel-Away foam pads are 5mm layers placed at the temples and cheeks. They can be removed by peeling if the helmet is too tight in a specific area, allowing you to adjust the fit millimeter by millimeter without changing the size.

Are the SZ-R EVO visors compatible with other Arai models?+

The SZ-R EVO visor uses the VAS-Z attachment system. It is compatible with the Arai VZ-RAM and the Arai SZ-R VAS. Older models like the SZ-Ram 4 use a different mechanism and are not compatible.

Can this helmet be used with glasses?+

Yes, grooves are specifically provided in the interior foam to accommodate glasses temples without pressure or discomfort, even over several hours of riding.
