The RX-7X is a pure racing full-face helmet, whereas the VZ-RAM and SZ-R EVO are open-face models. Its chin bar provides full frontal protection, which is absent on an open-face. Its ventilation is optimized for a tucked-in racing position, its low profile integrates with speed-hump suits, and its FCS is calibrated so it won't shift during hard braking. An open-face helmet remains better suited for city use; the RX-7X is made for the track and high speeds.

Yes. The cheek pads have pre-cut slots for speakers. We recommend thin speakers (standard Cardo or Sena): the very snug FCS leaves little room. For the microphone, opt for a wired mic attached inside the chin bar; a boom mic is too bulky. The Bluetooth unit is best attached using double-sided adhesive on the left side of the shell.

Arai recommends replacement after 5 years, even without visible damage. The PB-SNC2 shell and the foam liners degrade gradually due to sweat and UV rays. After an impact, even a minor one, replace the helmet immediately.

No. The RX-7X uses the VAS-V system, specific to this model. Its visors are not interchangeable with other Arai ranges (VZ-RAM, SZ-R EVO, RX-7V) that use VAS-Z or VAS systems. Always check for the VAS-V reference when buying a replacement visor.
